The book arrived in record time, was nicely presented and signed by the author. Wonderful read too!
Anal & Prostate Massagers - Buying Guide
A guide, not a sales page
Anal and prostate, done properly.
Comfort here is almost entirely about preparation, patience and the right shape. This is the practical information, without euphemism and without judgement.
The four rules → Or what is what →
Questions welcome. Ask an educator, no purchase involved.Four rules that make the difference.
None of them optional. Together they prevent almost every problem people run into.
1 · A flared base, always
The anus does not have a natural stopping point the way the vagina does, and it can draw an object further in. A flared base is wider than the widest part of the toy, so it physically cannot pass the opening.
A retrieval cord or loop is not a flared base. Cords snap, and they can be pulled off under tension. This is the one rule on this page with a hospital attached.
2, 3 and 4
- More lubricant than you think. This area produces none of its own. Use generously, reapply often, and choose a thicker formula if you are new to it.
- Slower than feels necessary. The muscle relaxes gradually. Pain means stop. Discomfort is information rather than something to push past.
- Size comes last. Start smaller than you expect to want. Progressive sets exist precisely so the body can adjust over weeks rather than minutes.
And never numbing creams. Pain is the warning system. Switching it off is how injuries happen unnoticed.
Six categories, in plain language.
Beginner
Plugs
Designed to sit comfortably and stay in place, giving a steady sensation of fullness rather than movement.
Progressive
Training sets
Graduated sizes used over time, so the body adapts at its own pace instead of all at once.
Targeted
Prostate massagers
Curved to reach the prostate, a few centimetres in on the front wall. Shape matters far more than power.
Preparation
Cleansing
Optional, and gentler is better. Plain warm water only, used sparingly rather than routinely.
Shared
Remote and vibrating
Adds vibration or partner control. The same base and lubricant rules still apply, without exception.
Material
Silicone, glass, steel
Non porous only. Avoid jelly, TPE and unlabelled soft plastics, which cannot be properly sanitised.
Afterwards matters too.
Asked quietly, answered plainly.
Should it hurt?
Which lubricant is best here?
Do I need to use a cleansing set?
Is prostate stimulation only for particular people?
When should I speak to a doctor?
What if something gets drawn in?
This page is education, not medical advice. If you have haemorrhoids, a fissure, inflammatory bowel disease or any other condition affecting the area, speak to your doctor before using anything internally.
Seven pieces, flared bases throughout.
Still at $49 is a graduated set, so you never guess a size. Vector at $89 is where prostate play should start. Cleanse at $59 handles the preparation.
